Animal Shelter Joy :)

Our visit to the animal shelter last week.....

We happened to see some ducks there! Some domesticated baby ducks were found in a neighborhood and brought to the shelter. What an exciting thing to see on our visit! :)

The nest is located right outside of the pool we go to...... Its been fun to watch the progress. When we went the other day, the birds were all gone..... It all happened so fast. :)

Trapeze Joy!!!!

Kathrynn absolutely ADORES trapeze- around here that is referred to as High Fliers, as in that is the organization who has a school in Bloomington offering classes and camps.
She took her first camp last year after watching a performance and was blown out of her mind with awe. She expressed interest in attending the camp, which she did.
When this spring came, I found out that the organization would not be offering a camp this spring due to misc issues they were having. Instead they have decided to do periodic classes on the site of the owner's house. So that is what we went to today!
It was a 2 hour clinic. Kathrynn hadn't been on the trapeze since last year, and immediately was able to do some key moves. She had some difficulty with the back flip at the beginning, as you can see from the first video.
By the end of the first hour she was doing all the moves, and found herself ready for the big move..... the hand off! Last year she was not confident enough to try this very tricky moves which requires that the individual's timing to be spot on! But this year she was eager to try it, and got it on the first try! She was so excited and full of pride and joy. :)
We can't wait until the next clinic!!!! :)

Animal love! :)

Kathrynn's love for animals is undeniable..... we visit the animal shelter about once a week, and as of a couple weeks ago have been visiting Delilah's pet store about every other day depending on our schedule. The pictures below are mostly from Delilah's but there are a couple from the animal shelter as well.

On a walk.....

This is kathrynn and her lovely friend zoe, on a walk from our house to zoe's home.
I love the easy of movement that these two girls have as they walk down the street.....
I also love this picture as it shows the variation of sizes of children... zoe is a year older then kathrynn, but looks much more so in this picture :)
This picture also reminds me of a childhood friend i had, that was SOOO much taller then i was. :)

a day in the life of kathrynn

eats like a cow..... moos like a cow...... oh its just kathrynn :)

Occasionally Kathrynn has decided that being a cow, eating grass, is a pretty cool thing. So she'll get down on the ground, and go at it- eating that grass! I managed to luck out last week and capture her endeavors on the camera. :)

A little girl, her fairy house, and pet worm.....

One afternoon we found ourselves at a park and Kathrynn started to dig in some mud, which led her to build a lovely fairy house. :)







In time, with the digging, she uncovered a worm. She attempted to feed the worm to a nearby robin, which made me giggle. :)



....in this picture she is saying "ohhhh rooooobin, here is a worm for you to eat......"


Then she played with the worm, gently, letting it crawl over various parts of her body.

.She wanted me to take pictures of just how long this worm was!
In the end, she placed the worm inside her fairy house, where it lived happily ever after. :)

Various Joy happenings around here..... :)

We've been pretty submerged in the marvels of spring and life here.....

We went to a waterpark last week and Kathrynn had fun exploring there, using her fish skills. :P
Our friend Skye was not feeling so well, but was a good sport. :)










Kathrynn at her friend Leslie's house... who has an amazing garden with many many flowers. :)

Kathrynn made a flower crown for her may pole dance #3, which i think was the most fun as she'd become an expert by then! She actually had 4 adults talk to her afterwards tell her how great she was at the dance, and how they followed Kathrynn's lead when they were feeling unsure on their next move. Kathrynn was beaming. :)

We met this lovely part Siamese, part DSH kitty at the animal shelter last week. Her name was Nora. :) I hope she got adopted!
Kathrynn has become a bit intrigued by the new freckles she is getting, so one morning she decided to circle or mark all of them with a marker. :)
